Mr Richard Flint is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, renowned for his compassionate care and surgical expertise.
He graduated from Cardiff Medical School and completed his postgraduate training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology within the South London Deanery. His advanced training includes two prestigious fellowships: one in Urogynaecology at King's College Hospital, and another in advanced robotic gynaecological surgery at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.
Mr Flint is a highly skilled surgeon with extensive experience in managing a wide range of benign gynaecological conditions, including endometriosis, adenomyosis, fibroids, ovarian cysts, endometrial polyps, menstrual disorders, postmenopausal bleeding, abnormal uterine and intermenstrual bleeding, menopause, contraception, and fertility-related investigations. As part of the emergency gynaecology team at Chelsea and Westminster, Mr Flint provides timely, empathetic care for patients experiencing acute gynaecological issues and early pregnancy complications.
He plays a key role in the hospital's minimal access (keyhole) surgery team, performing complex benign procedures using robotic techniques. As the Gynaecology Sedation Lead, he supports advanced hysteroscopic surgery, offering both awake and sedated outpatient care.
Mr Flint has been recognised for his outstanding patient care, receiving two PROUD Awards from Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. He was also part of the team that won the hospital's prestigious Great Big Cheer award for excellence in robotic gynaecological surgery.
Committed to education, Mr Flint serves as an examiner at Imperial College Medical School and actively teaches future surgeons in hysteroscopic, laparoscopic, and robotic surgical techniques. He is also a certified Immediate Life Support trainer.
In addition to his clinical work, Mr Flint is actively involved in research, with numerous publications in urogynaecology and minimal access surgery. He regularly presents his work at international conferences.
