About me

Life is often full of uncertainty, stress, and emotional upheaval. This can lead us to our having problems forming and maintaining relationships, feeling fearful, angry, lonely, hopeless, and at times, helpless.

Our capacity to deal and cope with these challenges initially develops in early childhood, through our relationships with others. Some of the ways we have learned to adapt to emotionally, mentally, and physically survive may mean we end up feeling empty, lost, and unfulfilled. We may experience this in our relationships with others partners, children, parents, friends, work colleagues or feel that there is something wrong with us. We find it difficult to feel fully in contact with ourselves and with others.

If any of this sounds familiar, then counselling or psychotherapy can help by providing time and space for you to understand yourself, your experience, and your unmet needs, in collaboration with an empathic, attuned, and qualified therapist who puts you at the centre of the therapeutic work. I believe therapy provides the conditions for change allowing you to fully be yourself, to accept yourself, and to unleash your potential to become you.

I'm a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist accredited with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and registered with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).

I am curious by nature about people, their lives and their experiences and how a range of factors, including family of origin, culture, social and economic status, intersect to shape and sometimes constrain them. I utilise my understanding to help individuals enhance their emotional and mental well-being, as well as their overall quality of life. I firmly believe that therapy provides a unique relational space for this to happen.

I hold a Masters in Psychology from Roehampton University and just completed my final year of doctoral training in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy at Metanoia Institute, London. I am a graduate member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and I follow the ethical guidelines of the BACP, UKCP and the BPS. In addition to my doctorate, I regularly undertake continuing professional development (CPD) to ensure I am working to the best of my ability for all my clients. I also have regular clinical supervision with an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist to enhance my practice and regular personal therapy.
