About me
Simon Smith is a Consultant Breast and Endocrine Surgeon at Mid and South Essex Hospitals Trustm based in Chelmsford. The Chelmsford Breast Unit Unit treats over 425 new cases of breast cancer per year, and he himself treats more that 100 breast and endocrine cases himself per year.
His particular interest is in optimising the aesthetic outcome of breast cancer surgery. This not only involves breast reconstruction, but also improving the outcomes of breast conserving surgery utilising novel techniques such as Therapeutic Mammoplasty (Breast Reduction to treat cancer and avoid mastectomy)
In addition, Simon trained at the Hammersmith Hospital in Endocrine Surgery, and currently has a large and growing workload in thyroid and parathyoroid surgery, often utilising minimally invasive techniques when performing such procedures.
