About me
I attended Cambridge and Oxford Medical Schools before training in Gastroenterology in Oxford and Nottingham. I care for both inpatients and outpatients with a wide variety of gastrointestinal and liver diseases. As well as being a consultant Gastroenterologist, I have held a number of clinical roles in the NHS Trust including Upper GI Cancer Lead, Family History of Colon Cancer Lead and Nutrition Steering Group member. I have also held a number of clinical management roles including my current role as Deputy Medical Director. I was Hospital Dean responsible for undergraduate medical education in Shropshire for 7 years and am an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the School of Medicine in Keele University. I am a member of the Shrewsbury and Telford NHS Trust Senior Leadership Team and Chair the Medical Education committee. I provide a broad range of Gastroenterology services at the Nuffield Hospital Shrewsbury and Apley Clinic including consultations, colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, upper gastrointestinal endoscopy and the advanced technique of endoscopic ultrasound. I have an interest in medical regulation and hold a number of GMC associate roles and am a clinical advisor to the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman
