About me
Hi, I'm Dr Mia, a clinical psychologist in Bristol. I believe that therapy is about helping people break free from stuck patterns using compassion, acceptance and the strengths they already have. I often work with people to understand why it makes sense that their brain works in the way it does, and invite ways to question if their mind is truly helping them lead a fulfilling life or whether it is stuck protecting them from past harm. We can spend some time exploring your past and how it might be influencing you today. Importantly, I meet you where you are with warmth and use your goals to tailor your therapy experience.
Feeling low, stressed, worried or stuck? Experiencing lack of confidence? Facing a new, scary life change? Coming to terms with trauma? I have worked with a range of people who have experienced a number of mental health challenges and concerns, and I specialise in self-esteem, anxiety and adjustment to major life transitions (particularly health concerns).
When we meet, you can expect to be nurtured, heard and understood from the start. I take care to make space for the concerns you want to bring. We'll work to understand what your therapy hopes are, and tailor our approach to help you reach these goals. From a place of warmth, humour, curiosity and care, we can make a plan together to give you back control.
