About me
I am a psychoanalytic psychotherapist, member of The Guild of Psychotherapists and fully accredited by UKCP. I abide by the Ethical Codes of Practice of The Guild and of UKCP. I offer a safe, dependable address. A collaboration based on trust without judgment and an understanding of what is really going on. Our capacity for growth and our quality of life are curtailed when, for whatever reason, we are haunted by the past or feel unequal to the present and future. We stop being present to ourselves or others, or lose our footing in the world. I work along side you. I listen and remember and I facilitate the conditions for positive change.
There doesn't have to be one specific reason to come to therapy and sometimes confusion is our starting point. We figure this out together. I facilitate a gradual unveiling and acceptance of what is suffered and repressed. The analysis of dreams and other unconscious phenomena are vital elements of this work. I support you to face what's difficult at your own pace, helping you to reclaim agency over your inner world, fostering authentic self-awareness and better relationships with yourself and others. Ours will be a high-stakes, collaborative relationship. One that offers not just understanding, but is committed to meaningful and lasting change.Although I draw on a broad range of theoretical thinking and approaches, the work emerges out of the unique encounter between us. I strive to provide a tailored and flexible response to your unique internal situation.
I began my clinical practice at the Rock Clinic in Brighton & Hove, at the Guild Clinic in Southwark and with psychiatric in-patients in the NHS. I continue to support the Guild Clinic as a member of the clinic committee.
