About me
Dr Antonio Creta is a Consultant Cardiologist at the world-renowned Barts Heart Centre, Europe's largest cardiac hospital, where he also serves as Clinical Governance Lead for the Department of Cardiac Electrophysiology.
He specialises in diagnosing and treating heart rhythm disorders (arrhythmias) and sees patients with symptoms such as palpitations, dizziness, blackouts, chest discomfort, fatigue, and shortness of breath.
Dr Creta performs a high volume of complex procedures every year, including catheter ablation, pacemaker and defibrillator implantation, and uses advanced technologies such as pulse field ablation, 3D cardiac mapping, and leadless pacemakers.
In addition to his arrhythmia expertise, Dr Creta also focuses on preventive cardiology, helping patients manage high blood pressure, raised cholesterol, and other cardiovascular risk factors to maintain long-term heart health.
Dr Creta is actively involved in cardiovascular research, has published extensively in leading peer-reviewed journals, and his work is widely cited.
He holds a PhD on atrial fibrillation, a Master's in Health Economics from the London School of Economics, and has contributed to the European Cardiac Arrhythmia Society's guidelines on atrial fibrillation ablation.
