About me

Dr Thomas Connor is a Consultant Kidney Specialist or Nephrologist at the Oxford Kidney Unit, Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. He studied medicine at the University of Cambridge and Oxford Medical School. He completed his specialist training in Renal Medicine at the Royal Free and Hammersmith hospitals in London. During this time, he completed his PhD on inherited kidney diseases as an MRC Clinical Research Fellow at University College London.

Dr Connor's clinical interests include chronic kidney disease (CKD), diabetic renal disease, hypertension, cystic kidney disease, and recurrent kidney stones. He has extensive experience with acute kidney injury (AKI), pre-dialysis care, and renal transplantation. He manages cohorts of haemodialysis patients at the Churchill Hospital in Oxford and in High Wycombe.

Dr Connor is an Educational Supervisor for junior doctors and Training Programme Director for renal medicine in Thames Valley. He leads on renal procedures, including renal biopsy (native and transplant) and dialysis line insertion.

He can offer tailored advice for patients with early stages of kidney disease to prevent the progression of their condition to more advanced stages of disease.
