About me

Dr Cormac Magee is a Consultant Gastroenterologist at University College London Hospitals (UCLH) and sees private patients at The London Digestive Centre and The Princess Grace Hospital. He studied medicine at Trinity College, Cambridge and then trained at Addebrooke's Hospital, Cambridge, the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, and University College London Hospitals.
He works in the Intestinal Failure and Nutrition Team at UCLH. Cormac sees patients in his NHS and private practice with a wide range of gastroenterological conditions including intestinal failure, irritable bowel syndromeweight loss, bloating, diarrhoea, reflux, constipation, difficulty swallowing, abdominal pain and iron deficiency anaemia.
He is a JETS approved trainer in colonoscopy and upper GI endoscopy. He is committed to excellent care, expertise and clear communication with patients.
He has a specialist interest in the management of patients living with obesity and diabetes, particularly in those with the complications of bariatric surgery. He has published extensively in the fields of Upper GI Therapeutic Endoscopy and Obesity including in such esteemed journals as Nature Medicine, Gut and the BMJ.
Cormac is also involved in teaching at UCL including as module lead for the Nutrition MSc, and has been involved in multiple live endoscopy courses both in the UK and internationally.
He is a clinical adviser to the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman and an associate editor of Frontline Gastroenterology. He is frequently asked to comment on gastrointestinal disorders in the national press.
