About me

Mr Jozsef Nemes is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in treating knee injuries, hip pain, and shoulder pain, and sports-related injuries. He has extensive experience in arthroscopic (keyhole) surgery, helping patients recover from ligament injuries, cartilage damage and joint problems.

Experience & Training:
Mr Nemes graduated from Semmelweis University, Budapest in 1982 and completed specialist training in Trauma and Orthopaedics. He undertook advanced fellowship training at Bochum University, Germany, and the Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, focusing on ACL reconstruction, knee arthroscopy, shoulder arthroscopy and sports injury surgery.
He worked for over 25 years at the Teaching Hospital of the University of Szeged, Hungary, where he became Head of the Orthopaedic Department in 2004 and served on the Hungarian National Board of Orthopaedics.
Mr Nemes pioneered hip arthroscopy and performed the first hip resurfacing procedure in Hungary in 2005. He moved to the UK in 2006 and worked as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Greater Manchester Surgical Centre, treating patients.

Areas of interest

At Practice Plus Group, Mr Nemes has a special interest in anatomic ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) reconstruction, using modern arthroscopic techniques and advanced implants. His aim is to reduce pain, improve knee stability, restore movement and function, and support patients in returning to everyday activities and sport after surgery.
