About me

Mr Nawar Abdulsattar is a distinguished consultant orthopaedic surgeon with over 20 years of experience in hip and knee arthroplasty and sports injuries of the lower limb.

Mr Abdulsattar specialises in hip and knee conditions, offering both surgical and non-surgical treatment options. His expertise includes:

As a high-volume surgeon with over 1,500 joint replacements performed, Mr Abdulsattar brings extensive surgical experience to each case, ensuring patients receive expert care tailored to their individual needs.

Training and Experience
Mr Abdulsattar qualified with an MBChB from Al-Mustansirya University, Baghdad in 2003. He subsequently trained in Sweden, passing the medical examination at Karolinska Institute in Stockholm and completing comprehensive orthopaedic training to become a Swedish-Board certified specialist in trauma and orthopaedics.
During his training, he conducted research on developmental hip dysplasia and undertook PhD studies at Gothenburg University, investigating the epidemiology, treatment methods, and outcomes of ankle fractures. He completed a specialist fellowship in hip and knee arthroplasty at Stockholm Orthopaedic Center.
Mr Abdulsattar was appointed consultant surgeon at Aleris hospitals in Stockholm before relocating to the UK in 2020. He currently practices with Practice Plus Group at Emersons Green in Bristol and Barlborough in Chesterfield, whilst maintaining his position as a visiting surgeon in Sweden.
