About me

Mr Oliver Schindler is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and Lower Limb Specialist with over 30 years of clinical and surgical experience. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and a Member of the British Hip Society the British association for Surgery of the Knee and the Faculty of Sports & Exercise Medicine. His practice base is the Bristol Hip & Knee Clinic, located at the Bristol Nuffield Hospital ‘The Chesterfield’. The hospital has recently undergone a complete refurbishment now providing the most advanced in diagnostic and therapeutic facilities. Mr Schindler is an experienced arthroplasty surgeon having performed over 2500 hip and knee replacements since becoming a consultant in 1999. He has been offering modular knee replacement procedures tailored to individual wear patterns of the knee thereby allowing for improved knee function. Following fellowships with Larry Dorr in Los Angeles and Richard Berger in Chicago he has become a specialist in MIS (minimally invasive surgery) for both knee and hip replacement procedures. Mr Schindler is on the review board of the British Medical Journal and a number of international orthopaedic journals. He continues conducting his own research projects and has written a number of journal articles and book chapters on topics concerning hip and knee surgery.
