About me

I pursued my post-graduate degree in Paediatrics from a large tertiary referral centre B.J. Wadia Hospital for Children in Mumbai, which is a 300 bedded Paediatric Hospital with various sub-specialties like Paediatric endocrine, Paediatric nephrology, Paediatric Haematology, Paediatric neurology & epilepsy, Paediatric infectious disease, Paediatric Liver, Paediatric surgery, neurosurgery and plastic surgery. I have worked in various NHS Trusts in the South East region during my run through specialist training in Paediatrics before joining the research post at King's College London. I have gained extensive experience in Neonatology during my training at Hammersmith Hospital (Imperial) and King's College Hospital in London where I held the position of Consultant Neonatologist. I also trained in PICU at King's College Hospital where I gained experience of managing critically unwell children. I also worked as a Consultant Neonatologist at University Hospital Lewisham before joining Darent Valley Hospital in 2021.
With extensive experience from both the UK and abroad, I am able to holistically approach and manage various medical conditions in children whether acute or chronic. I am very well versed with the management of a variety of conditions in smallest premature infants to adolescents such as growth failure, endocrine conditions, initial assessment of allergies, hayfever, headache, abdominal pain, nocturnal enuresis, faints/dizzy spells, sleep difficulties, constipation, hypermobility, eczema, migraine, nutritional advice, health promotion and most of the conditions that can be managed in a clinic setting. I aim to deliver high quality care for the children and newborn infants with special emphasis on improving their experience by practicing family integrated care.
With my special interest and experience in Neonatology, I have been helping to provide excellent care to the sickest preterm infants delivered locally. With this experience, I am able to support the department achieve a variety of achievements in my role as a deputy Neonatal Lead. I have a keen interest in research and have numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals. I have successfully introduced and driven the participation of our department in National clinical trials to find the best evidence in treatment and management of children and newborn infants. I hold the position of the Research Lead, where I lead the local recruitment on numerous National Randomised Clinical Trials (RCTs) which is the gold standard in evidence-based medicine.
