About me
II am a qualified and experienced counsellor with a BA (Hons) in Counselling and Psychotherapy and over 20 years' experience supporting individuals, couples, and groups. I am an Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP Accredited) and work in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework.
I have worked across a wide range of settings including the NHS, private practice, education, local authorities, and the charity sector, supporting clients with both short- and long-term therapeutic needs.
How I Work
My approach is person-centred and integrative, meaning I tailor therapy to each individual rather than using a one-size-fits-all model. I draw on a range of evidence-based approaches, including:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Solution-Focused Therapy
Motivational Interviewing
Single Session Therapy
NLP
Compassion-Focused and Psychodynamic approaches
I am trained in trauma-informed and strengths-based practice, offering a safe, non-judgemental space where you can explore difficult emotions at your own pace.
Areas I Support
I have specialist experience working with:
Depression and anxiety
Trauma (including childhood and adult abuse)
Low self-esteem and anger
Relationship difficulties
Grief, loss, and life transitions
Neurodiversity (ADHD and ASD)
My work also includes supporting military personnel, ex-offenders, and Macmillan clients, including those affected by cancer diagnoses, treatment, and end-of-life issues. I have extensive experience working with complex trauma, trust difficulties, and long-standing emotional challenges.
Supervision, Mentoring & Coaching
Alongside my therapeutic work, I provide clinical supervision for qualified counsellors and trainees, as well as mentoring and coaching to support confidence-building, resilience, and professional development.
