About me
Simon is a Specialist in Shoulders, Elbows, Wrist and Hands, working exclusively in London Private Healthcare.
He studied Medicine at the University of Leicester, and became a junior surgeon at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital, where he decided on a career in orthopaedics. Higher Surgical training on the Bart’s rotation took him to the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital and Great Ormond Street, amongst others. Mr Owen-Johnstone also studied at the St Andrews Centre for Plastic Surgery, on a national fellowship.
Mr Owen-Johnstone became a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon at St Bartholomew’s and The Royal London in 2004, working on the multiple major injuries brought by the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service. He was the Orthopaedic Lead Clinician before leaving the NHS in 2011
His practice covers all aspects of problems from the fingertips to the collarbone. Mr Owen-Johnstone deals with joints, skin, bone, muscle, tendon and nerve. A lot of his surgery is performed via ‘keyhole’ techniques.
