About me

Mr Ash is an experienced and accomplished Consultant Gynaecologist having worked in the field of women's health for over twenty years. He is dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centred care for women at every stage of life. With advanced expertise in minimal access (keyhole) surgery and a strong clinical interest in menopause health, he combines modern, evidence-based treatment with a warm and compassionate approach.

He completed his undergraduate training at the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine, London, qualifying in 2002. Following a year spent working in a busy obstetric hospital in West Australia, he undertook his postgraduate obstetric and gynaecological training in Bristol and the Southwest, giving him broad and comprehensive experience in all aspects of women's health.

Mr Ash relocated to Lancashire in 2013 to take up his consultant post at Burnley and Blackburn Hospitals, where he has continued to work since. As well as his busy clinical role, Mr Ash is Associate Medical Director for Improvement for East Lancashire Hospitals Trust, where he is able to further his passion for improving healthcare.

As a specialist in minimal access surgery Mr Ash offers a range of procedures designed to reduce pain, minimise recovery time and optimise long-term outcomes including conditions such as fibroids, ovarian cysts, endometriosis, heavy menstrual bleeding and pelvic pain. His surgical philosophy emphasises precision, safety and ensuring patients feel informed and supported throughout their treatment journey.

Mr Ash is also a recognised menopause specialist, helping women navigate the perimenopause and menopause with confidence. He provides personalised plans, tailored to each patient's symptoms, health profile and preferences. His goal is to empower women with clear guidance, up-to-date information and holistic strategies to improve long-term wellbeing.

When not in work, Mr Ash enjoys long distance running, having completed three ultramarathons. He also manages his son's Under 13s rugby side and fancies himself as a bit of an amateur cook.

Whether you are seeking expert surgical care, menopause support or a comprehensive gynaecological assessment, Mr Ash offers a professional, reassuring and personalised service focused on achieving the best possible outcomes.
