About me
Dr Nikos Xanidis is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with over 11 years of experience working in the NHS with people across the lifespan and with a wide range of psychological difficulties. He is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and is a member of the Association of Clinical Psychologists (ACP-UK). He is billingual and offers psychological interventions in English and Greek both online and face to face.
Starting therapy can feel difficult, particularly when you may already be feeling overwhelmed, uncertain or unsure where to begin. You do not need to have everything figured out before coming to therapy. Nikos offers a safe, collaborative and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly, make sense of what you are experiencing and work towards meaningful change.
His therapeutic style is grounded in compassion, collaboration and transparency. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, Nikos works together with each person to understand their individual experiences, identify patterns that may be keeping them stuck and develop strategies that are practical and meaningful for them. He aims to balance acceptance and compassion with supporting people to make changes that can improve their wellbeing and relationships.

His approach is grounded in evidence-based psychological therapies, drawing on a range of approaches depending on each person's needs, preferences and goals. These include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Behavioural Family Therapy (BFT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). He also takes a neurodiversity-informed approach, recognising that people may experience and respond to the world in different ways.
