About me

Dr Moloy Das is a Consultant Cardiologist at Freeman Hospital where he specialises in heart rhythm disorders and cardiac device implantation.

Dr Das attended Newcastle University Medical School, graduating with intercalated BMedSci(Hons) and MBBS degrees. He completed Cardiology training, specialising in cardiac rhythm management, in the North East in 2011. He subsequently undertook a Fellowship in Cardiac Electrophysiology in Toronto, Canada, achieving international accreditation in Cardiac Electrophysiology during that time. On his return to the UK in 2013, he completed an MD(Res) higher research degree at the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London, with the research study based at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital. He was appointed as a Consultant Cardiologist, specialising in heart rhythm disorders, at Freeman Hospital in 2015.

Dr Das's interests include catheter ablation of cardiac rhythm disorders, with a particular interest in atrial fibrillation (AF), and implantation of complex cardiac devices including cardiac resynchronisation therapy and defibrillator devices. He has published >40 articles in peer-reviewed journals, primarily in the field of AF ablation, and has been an invited speaker on AF treatment at several national and international conferences. He remains active in research relating to improving outcomes from AF ablation.
