About me

Mr. Goru completed his medical education at Andhra Medical College in 1999 and pursued postgraduate studies in Orthopaedics at Ganga Hospital, Coimbatore, India. Early in his career, he developed a keen interest in spinal surgery. In 2006, he relocated to the UK, where he completed his basic surgical rotation in Essex and advanced surgical training in Trauma & Orthopaedics in Essex and Northwest England. After passing the FRCS (Tr & Orth.) examination, he further honed his skills through prestigious spinal fellowships at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London and the AO Spine Reference Centre at University Hospital Wales in Cardiff.
Mr. Goru gained extensive experience in all aspects of spinal surgery, including deformity correction. His expertise encompasses techniques such as Microdiscectomy and Micro decompression in the lumbar spine, Anterior cervical discectomy, Disc replacement and Fusion, Posterior neck surgery, Anterior approaches to the thoracolumbar spine, Scoliosis correction, Lumbosacral injection techniques, and minimally invasive spinal surgery like image-guided pedicle screws, ALIF, and XLIF.
His career includes a tenure as a Locum Spine Consultant at Warrington Hospital from 2013 to 2016, followed by sub-specialty rotations at Manchester Royal Infirmary, Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, and Salford Royal Hospital Spinal Unit. In October 2022, after obtaining his Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR), he completed a refresher spinal fellowship at the world-renowned Oswestry Spinal Unit.
In 2023, Mr. Goru was appointed as an NHS Consultant Orthopaedic Spinal Surgeon at The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust. He is dedicated to developing the spine referral centre for the Black Country at The Royal Wolverhampton Hospital. His practice primarily focuses on treating degenerative spinal conditions, with a special interest in cervical spine surgery. Academically oriented and committed to training, Mr. Goru has published over 15 papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals and presented his research at numerous national and international conferences. He is a member of various professional organizations, including the British Orthopaedic Association (BOA), British Association of Spine Surgeons (BASS), National Spine Network (NSN), British Medical Association (BMA), British Indian Orthopaedic Society (BIOS), and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
