About me

I am an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist with over two decades of expertise in mental health. After qualifying from the University of Manchester in 1999, I began my career in Psychiatry in 2002. I completed postgraduate training across London, spending my registrar years in South London & Maudsley NHS Trust. I currently work with Windsor, Ascot, and Maidenhead Community Mental Health Team, where I provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments and treatment for a wide range of mental health conditions, from common to complex disorders.

I adopt a holistic and patient-centred approach to mental health, considering the intricate connection between body, mind, and environment. I understand the importance of lifestyle factors and value physical health as an essential component of mental well-being. I am an experienced prescriber but I also reach beyond medication to incorporate a broad spectrum of therapeutic considerations into my practice. With a Postgraduate Certificate in Evidence-Based Psychological Therapies and a Master's degree in Psychiatric Research, I am committed to providing up-to-date and research-informed psychiatric care.

Passionate about collaborative care, I recognise the vital role of carers in supporting individuals with mental health conditions. I participate in research, with a particular interest in how genetics can impact on response to medication. I have also taken on several leadership roles throughout my career and am currently involved in setting up a new service for individuals with complex psychosis. I am actively involved in teaching, training and supervision for trainee psychiatrists and non-medical colleagues.
