About me

I am Psychodynamic Psychotherapist, with extensive experience in both long-term psychotherapy but also short-term psychotherapy and solution focused Counselling.

I completed an MSc in Theoretical Psychoanalytic Theory in 1998 at University College London, I was taught by Mary Target and Professor Peter Fonagy and many other leading modern theorists in the field of psychoanalysis and related disciplines. I went on to Complete my clinical training at Westminster Pastoral Foundation (WPF Therapy), a leading provider of counselling and psychotherapy training in the UK. I obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Studies (2005) and a Post-qualifying Certificate in CBT (2012). Further to this, I trained as a Solution Focused Counsellor in 2015 at the Professional Development Institute. I have delivered short term counselling and psychotherapy in the UK, US and globally to substantial number of clients working in diverse industries. Lastly, I completed the foundation year of Group Analysis at the Institute of Group Analysis (IGA) in 2024.

My approach is based on the understanding that difficult experiences in the past can continue to affect the way you feel and behave in the present. In the therapeutic relationship, we can start to explore and recognise the reasons why the things that make you unhappy seem to be repeating themselves. For example, if you live in fear that your manager will be critical of you this might reveal a pattern of difficulty in relationships, particularly with those in a position of authority. Perhaps this stems from growing up within a highly critical environment during your early stages of development.

We would be able to look at how your life experiences have shaped the way you think, feel and behave. This will enable you to let go of past patterns of behaviour, which are no longer helpful.
