About me

I'm Dr Suman Paul, a Consultant Respiratory Physician at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, where I lead the COPD services. With over a decade of specialist experience in respiratory medicine, I'm passionate about helping patients breathe easier and live better.

My approach

I believe in putting my patients first, taking time to listen to your concerns and explaining things in a way that's easy to understand. Whether you're struggling with breathlessness, a persistent cough, or need specialized respiratory care, I'll work with you to find the most effective treatment plan.

My expertise
I specialize in advanced diagnostic and treatment techniques for respiratory conditions.As a COPD lead for our Trust, I am involved in latest treatments and clinical trials for COPD and other lugn conditions like asthma and bronchiectasis. I am a published author in medical journal, speaker at multiple nationla and international conferences and regarded as a key opinion leader in my specialty.

My journey in respiratory medicine has taken me across the across, learning from world-leading institutions:

-Trained in both India and the UK
-Completed MBBS from Medical College, Kolkata, India
-Completed specialist respiratory training in North-West England
-Advanced interventional pulmonology fellowship in Italy
-European Diploma in Adult Respiratory Medicine
-Member of the Royal College of Physicians (UK)
-Published Author in peer-reviewed medical Journals
Beyond the clinic, I have a respiratory focussed channel called- Pneumologix on all major social media platforms- Youtube, Tiktok, Facebook and Instagram.
