About me
Biography
Professor Kaur is a specialist in metabolic health, weight loss, gallbladder and hernia surgery. She provides expert surgical care with a focus on patient-centred treatment and innovative medical solutions.
Professor Kaur completed her undergraduate studies at Edinburgh University, where she graduated with Honours, Distinction and Class Prizes. She was among the first in her cohort nationally to complete the MRCS and FRCS surgical examinations.
She received a run-through training number and completed her registrar training in South West London. During this time, she also undertook several fellowships. Among these was the highly coveted Darzi Fellowship in Healthcare Management as well as a prestigious research Fellowship at Imperial College, where she was awarded a PhD for her research investigating the pathophysiology of pre-diabetes.
Prof. Kaur is passionate about fostering collaboration for shared learning, and her dedication to global knowledge exchange has been recognised with two honorary professorships. She is currently the Surgical Lead to Virtual Ward, Clinical Audit, NELA and is the Royal College of Surgeons' Surgical Tutor for Kingston and Richmond NHS Trust.
Ms Kaur also has a strong background in education and training and has authored multiple chapters in various post-graduate textbooks. She has also received the 3rd British Asian Women's Award in 2026, a national award for her achievements in education.
