About me
Dr Deepak Suri was appointed a Consultant Gastroenterologist in 2002 following training and experience at teaching hospitals in London. He was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) in 2006.
A member of The GI Unit at the Hospital of St John & St Elizabeth he also consults at 1 Welbeck and Highgate Private Hospital. His NHS practices are at The Whittington Hospital and University College London Hospital (where he runs a dedicated liver clinic). At the Whittington where he is Clinical Director for medicine, he has been the clinical lead for endoscopy, and Gastroenterology. He is clinical lead for the Viral Hepatitis clinics at UCL Hospitals.
He is very experienced in the treatment of common digestive tract symptoms such as heartburn, reflux disorders, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, constipation, and rectal bleeding, as well as investigating liver disorders and assessing liver health.
In this, his philosophy is patient-centered, offering a holistic approach to help patients. His primary aim is to ensure that patients feel heard, comfortable and at ease, giving them the attention and time they deserve. By using his experience and expertise, he will directly address patient concerns and create treatment plans to manage symptoms and improve patients' quality of life.
He uses his experience and expertise, alongside the patient’s concerns to create the best treatment plans possible to address symptoms to improve quality of life.

He is a member of the BUPA platinum network because of his very high rating among BUPA customers.
2. Endoscopy is an invasive procedure and understandably holds fears and concerns for many patients. He will discuss with you noninvasive alternatives. If it is felt that endoscopy is the best way forward endoscopy is caried at locations with the equipment and the latest endoscopic techniques such as underwater colonoscopy to minimize discomfort which means the amount of analgesia a patient requires during procedures is optimized to ensure they are well tolerated. He has excellent comfort and patient satisfaction scores following endoscopic procedures. His personal endoscopy completion rates, comfort, sedation scores and polyp detection rates are excellent when compared to peers and national benchmarks and are regularly audited to maintain high standards
