About me
Hi, I'm Michelle - a BACP registered & NCPS Accredited Integrative Psychotherapist/Counsellor, providing one-to-one therapy for adults, in the semi-rural, historic area of Liversedge, West Yorkshire. I offer the flexibility of in-person appointments, or remote support via video link.
Clients often say my down-to-earth demeanor and open-mindedness help them feel comfortable and understood. I attribute this to my years of psychotherapeutic training and my unusual life experiences, which have helped me be completely non-judgemental in my work. I operate my practice compassionately, viewing you as a person, not a patient.
My approach is friendly, empathic, and modernwithout that daunting, clinical feel that many expect from therapy. I strive to provide a service that balances humanness and professionalism, helping you feel at ease enough to fully open up.
I work with a huge range of issues, most commonly anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, workplace stress, relationships, bereavement/grief, and family concerns. If you're unsure if I work with your particular problem, please just ask, as it's highly likely that I'll be able to help.
I am also certified in working therapeutically with neurodivergent clients (particularly Autism, ADHD, and AuDHD), diagnosed and self-diagnosed.
I have an in-depth understanding of how neurodivergence can present differently in men and women. My practice is neurodivergent-affirming, sensory-stimulating, and adaptable to individual needs, as much as my working environment will allow.
As a former Professional Member of the Institute of Psychedelic Therapy, I am recreational substances (and chemsex) aware, offering a judgement-free space to explore personal experiencesboth positive and negative (though I do not specialise in addiction counselling). I am a sexuality and relationship diversity trained therapist.
My practice is LGBT friendly, sex-worker allied, and supportive of alternative lifestyles - my policy being that something is only a problem if it's a problem for YOU.
Reaching out for help can be one of the hardest steps, but also one of the most empowering.
Feel free to get in touch to book an appointment or arrange a call-back. I'll do my best to put you at ease and explain how I can help.
