About me
I am the lead Consultant Bariatric Surgeon at St George’s Hospital and built on the previous St George’s service to develop the South Thames Bariatric Service - one of the preferred providers for NHS bariatric surgery in the London region. I have developed networked bariatric processes for collaborative working. I am the BOMSS representative on the National Bariatric Surgery Registry.
I performed my first gastric band in 2002 and now perform laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass and endoscopic balloon placement as part of a multidisciplinary team.
I have considerable experience of revision surgery. My surgical practice is dedicated to bariatric and benign upper GI conditions having discontinued performing cancer surgery in 2004. I have particular experience with high risk bariatric surgery where staged procedures are required.
I have lectured nationally and internationally on bariatric surgery. I am experienced at the full range of anti-reflux options including fundoplication, hiatus hernia repar, LINX magentic device and STRETTA radiofrquency treatment to the oesophagus.
