About me

Dr Ricardo Madrigal is a Consultant Allergist with over 15 years of experience. Trained in Spain, he currently serves as a consultant in the Allergy & Severe Asthma Service at St Bartholomew's Hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust, the largest NHS trust in the UK.

Dr Ricardo Madrigal is one of the small number of physicians on the GMC Specialist Register for Allergy. He is highly proficient in all aspects of allergy care.

He serves as Co-Chair of the World Allergy Organization's Drug Hypersensitivity Reactions Committee and a member of the Standards of Care Committee (SOCC) for the British Society for Allergy & Clinical Immunology (BSACI), where he actively contributes to advancing allergy care standards in the UK.

Honoured as an international fellow of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology (AAAAI) for his research, Dr Madrigal has published extensively in high-impact journals and serves on the editorial board and reviewer panel of prominent allergy journals. A passionate educator, he teaches at medical schools, MSc drug allergy courses and conferences.

Dr Ricardo Madrigal offers comprehensive allergy services, including skin testing, molecular diagnostics, and immunotherapy, with clinics available in both English and Spanish.

Areas of interest

Patients aged 18 and above; skin prick testing; allergic rhinitis or hay fever (e.g. pollen, animal, dust allergy); allergen immunotherapy; allergic eye disease; food and drug allergy, including day case challenge testing; anaphylaxis, including adrenaline autoinjector training and prescription; chronic spontaneous urticaria and angioedema (recurrent 'hives'), including biologic therapy; bee and wasp venom allergy; atopic asthma (testing for inhalant drivers of asthma); latex allergy; atopic eczema and contact dermatitis (skin allergy), including patch testing.
