About me

Mr Matyas Fehervari is a consultant surgeon specialising in upper gastrointestinal, general, bariatric surgery and endoscopy. He provides minimally invasive treatment for conditions such as acid reflux, gallstones, hernias, and obesity, with care tailored to each patient's needs. Known for his clear communication and calm, patient-focused approach, he is committed to safe, effective care.

Mr Fehervari works full-time at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. He completed his surgical training through the North West London academic programme with Imperial College, followed by a Royal College of Surgeons fellowship in bariatric and anti-reflux surgery. He has also undertaken visiting fellowships at the Mayo Clinic (USA) and the University of Strasbourg (France).

He holds a PhD in Clinical Surgery and two Master's degrees, and is active in research with multiple national and international collaborations. His academic work includes publications on gastrointestinal and bariatric surgery, and he regularly contributes to teaching and training.

He leads a surgical module at Kent and Medway Medical School, teaches at the London Postgraduate School of Surgery, and is a nationally accredited endoscopy trainer involved in Joint Advisory Group (JAG) programmes.

Outside work, he enjoys cycling, running, fishing, and family time.
