About me

I understand just what a big step it can be to find a counsellor and begin therapy. It is my role to make the step as comfortable as possible for you.

There are many reasons why you may be choosing to seek counselling at this time, and no one situation is the same as another. Your life and story is unique to you, so I am flexible with the approach I use, finding a way of working to suit you. I am trained in Integrative counselling which includes Person-Centred, Gestalt, Psychodynamic and Transactional Analysis approaches, as well as further training in trauma therapy and EMDR therapy. I draw from all these approaches in my work, but at the core of my work I am always relational.

I offer a space for you to open up and explore your feelings in a confidential, non-judgemental and empathic environment. Maybe you want to work through a particular situation or life event, or an unhelpful pattern of feelings/behaviour. Perhaps you are interested in developing your personal awareness by exploring aspects of your 'self ' further. You are the expert on you and I am here to support you to find a way to help yourself.

I have 10 years post qualifying experience, and 8 years in private practice. My work with clients has covered a wide range of issues, including neurodivergent clients, chronic illness, childhood trauma, family/relationship issues, narcisisstic and emotional abuse and many more presenting issues.

I have counselled adults for a mental health charity, as well as a womens charity and have supported people experiencing drug & alcohol misuse problems for a drugs service.

I have worked in a secondary school as a counsellor and I have also worked with young care leavers and as a life skills tutor with young people.
