About me

I am Mr Giuseppe Di Taranto, a Consultant Plastic Surgeon with extensive experience in Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery and a personal special interest in breast surgery, body contouring, and gender surgery.
My passion for plastic surgery stems from the recognition that each case is unique. I commit my time to comprehending the individual story of each patient, allowing me to offer a personalised approach to their healthcare journey.
Having earned my qualification in Medicine and Surgery from The Catholic University of the Sacred Heart of Rome and Sapienza University of Rome, I pursued further training abroad, immersing myself in renowned institutions. My fellowships in Brazil, Taiwan, Japan, and the UK provided me with the opportunity to train alongside pioneers in plastic surgery and learn state-of-the-art techniques in reconstructive and cosmetic surgery.
I collaborated closely with internationally renowned surgeons Prof. Miroslav Djordjevic and Ngamcherd Sitpahul, specializing in Gender Affirming Surgery. Currently holding a Substantive Consultant post at the esteemed Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, NHS Foundation Trust in central London, I specialize in oncologic and reconstructive procedures within the Plastic Surgery and Gender Affirmation Surgery services.
I have authored numerous research projects and published several books and articles in prestigious international journals. My contributions include the validation of new devices for the rapid isolation of adipose-derived stem cells and the development of innovative protocols in regenerative medicine.
I earned a PhD focusing on innovative technologies for diseases of the skeleton and soft tissue, with a particular emphasis on pioneering techniques for the treatment of lymphedema.
