About me

Dr Emmi Honeybourne-Ward is a Clinical Psychologist which means she is trained to Doctorate level to support people with a range of different difficulties using a variety of different evidence-based models of therapy. Emmi's process is always to understand a person's difficulties and how they have come to find themselves in their current position, before tailoring the therapeutic support she is offering fully to their personal needs and aims.
Emmi's aim is to work collaboratively with people to support positive change within a relationship which is non-judgmental, safe and contained.
Emmi has worked within psychological services with a range of different client groups since 2008. She has worked with adults, adolescents and children across NHS and Local Authority settings as well as within private practice and is registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC).

People come to therapy for a huge range of different reasons. It may be that they are struggling with emotional distress which is becoming overwhelming, there may be specific circumstances around relationships, family, parenting or work that feel troubling and 'stuck'. Sometimes people come to therapy without a specific issue but a desire to explore areas such as childhood, relationships, identity, confidence or future aspirations.
Emmi's aim is to work collaboratively with people to support positive change within a relationship which is non-judgmental, safe and contained.

The models of therapy Emmi uses regularly are Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Trauma-focused Therapy as well as work on familial relationships using an attachment focused therapy called Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP).
