About me
Mr Sriram has been a consultant urological surgeon at University Hospital since 2002, having trained in urology in the West Midlands deanery. He passed the FRCS(Urology) examination in 2000 and achieved specialist registration in 2001.
He obtained his primary MBBS degree from the University of Madras in 1984 and went on to obtain the Masters Degree in Surgery from the same university in 1988. He obtained the general Fellowship in Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 1990. In 1994, he obtained the Diploma in Urology from the University of London before joining the West Midlands Urology training scheme. He was awarded the highest score in the European Board of Urology examination in 2001.
Mr Sriram's main area of interest is general urology, bladder cancer, female urology, neurourology, urinary incontinence and urodynamics. He has published and presented papers in international journals and meetings. He is the lead clinician for continence services in urology.
Mr Sriram has performed many prostate operations for benign prostate disease. He is also proficient in performing surgery for tight foreskin and hydrocele/ epididymal cyst. He was the lead for bladder cancer (removal of the bladder for cancer) and urinary incontinence in men and women. He trained many consultants to perform anti-stress incontinence procedures in women and Botox injections in both men and women.
He was an educational supervisor for Warwick medical students and had taught the urology curriculum for the medical students. He also teaches in the CCrISP course at Coventry and at the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He was an examiner for the intermediate and Final MB Ch exams.
