About me
Making the decision to seek counselling is a brave one.
You may be overwhelmed by your emotions, and finding it difficult to navigate life at the moment. You may feel wary or cautious about sharing the innermost parts of yourself with another person. It might be that the idea of counselling is new for you, and you aren't sure what to expect.
I understand how you may be feeling. I am here to listen to you, to support you and to provide you with a safe space for you to explore your life story, and empower you in improving your emotional wellbeing.
As an Integrative Counsellor, I work with skills from three different styles of counselling:
- Person-Centred practice traditional talking therapy which focuses on client-led exploration
- Psychodynamic practice - exploring how our pasts affect our present
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy - working together to challenge negative thoughts and behaviours
Being integrative allows me to blend ideas from each model to create a therapeutic style that is unique for each client.
I am an Accredited Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and my practice follows their Ethical Framework. I also hold an enhanced DBS certificate.
I have worked with a wide range of clients of all ages and backgrounds, including clients with disabilities and neurodiversities.
My experience includes working in a range of settings, including with local charities under the Rape Crisis organisation umbrella, in an educational setting, in a GP surgery setting and in private practice.
