About me

Dr Claire Bone is a Clinical Psychologist with over 11 years experience working in mental health and 9 years within the NHS. She completed the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Sheffield, and is registered with the HCPC. She currently works in the NHS with adults struggling with physical health conditions and over-eating or emotional eating, alongside her private practice. Claire has previously worked in a range of settings, including working in an adult acute and complex mental health setting for 5 years prior to her current role.

Areas of interest

Claire works with adults experiencing a wide range of mental health symptoms, which can be viewed as arising from adversity in life. These symptoms could include: depression; anxiety; low self-esteem; phobia; OCD; relationship problems; PTSD; complex PTSD; self-harm; bipolar; psychosis; addictions; eating difficulties; and more.
She uses an integrated approach depending on the person and the symptoms they are experiencing, which may include the following approaches: Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), and Cognitive-Analytic Therapy (CAT).
