About me

Psychotherapy is a form of treatment that focuses on improving an individual's mental and emotional well-being. It involves a collaborative process with the goal of understanding and addressing psychological concerns, emotional difficulties, and behavioural patterns causing distress or interfering with optimal functioning.

The focus of psychotherapy is to promote personal growth, emotional healing, and improved psychological health. Together, we work to identify patterns contributing to distress or interfering with daily life, while developing effective coping strategies and greater self-awareness.

Psychotherapy can support individuals dealing with a wide range of challenges, including:
 Anxiety and panic disorders
 Depression
 Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
 Eating disorders
 Substance use issues
 Relationship difficulties

It can also be helpful during life transitions, experiences of grief and loss, low self-esteem, and stress-related concerns.

Therapeutic work begins with an initial consultation to explore the nature of concerns and determine the most appropriate treatment plan. Sessions are usually held weekly and last 50 minutes.

My approach is holistic and integrative, centred around clients' unique therapeutic journeyone that can lead to healing, transformation, and lasting growth.

As an integrative systemic and family psychotherapist, I specialise in working with individuals, couples, and families. Depending on clients' needs, my work draws from a range of evidence-based approaches, trauma-focussed therapy, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Attachment-focussed EMDR as well as Emotionally Focussed Therapy (EFT) and is further informed by Somatic Experiencing and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help clients process and release the trauma held in both, the mind and body.

Mental Health:
I have extensive experience in working with adults (17yrs) and children and adolescents (8yrs) in community and hospital mental health services. In my work with children and young people, I offer parenting guidance and support.

Families:
I specialise in supporting families with a wide range of challenges, including recurring conflicts, feelings of disconnection, and the stresses associated with life-cycle transitions (such as pregnancy, childbirth, parenting stresses, illness, separation and loss). I have extensive experience in working with child and adolescent mental health problems and in supporting families to navigate mental health difficulties and learning how to be part of new solutions. In my work with families, I offer attachment-informed parenting guidance.

Whether you are struggling with feelings of abandonment, mistrust, anxiety, low mood or difficulty forming healthy connections, I provide a space to heal.

Therapeutic process
I believe that therapy is a collaborative process, and I work alongside my clients to build a safe and supportive space where we can work toward healing and personal growth. Recognising that no two people are the same, I tailor my therapeutic interventions to the unique needs and aspirations of each person, couple, and family to best support them in creating insights and developing tools to thrive.

Experience and Specialisations:
Healing from attachment trauma, neglect, and early emotional wounds
Overcoming the impact of emotional neglect or abandonment in childhood
Attachment styles and how they affect adult relationships
Support for individuals struggling with trust and intimacy
Working with couples to heal attachment injuries and improve relational dynamics
 Trauma-informed care
