About me

I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist registered with The British Psychological Society (BPS) and Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). I am also a BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, BACP accredited Psychotherapist and accredited Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) practitioner. I am also qualified and experienced in working with couples. Accreditation and membership within these Organisations reflects the highest standards of training, practice and professional development. I have over 30 years of experience of working in the NHS, Multinational Healthcare Companies such as BUPA, in Universities, Charities, with Medical/Legal services and in Private Practice.
Providing a professional, high-quality service with a warm and friendly approach is important to me. Most of us experience difficulties in our life at some stage which can have an impact on our health. Talking with someone you trust and who understands can be an important step in recovery. I work in a collaborative, integrative, strengths-focussed way to support people during challenging times in their lives towards improved health, well-being and better relationships.
Sessions are uniquely designed to suit your needs based on collaborative discussion with you around your priorities and preferences. I use evidence-based therapies and techniques, reflecting research developments. I often use an integrative approach drawing from a range of approaches such as Systemic/Relational, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focussed CBT and Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR). These approaches can be beneficial in reducing distressing symptoms such as trauma memories, nightmares or flashbacks, stress, anxiety, worry, depression and low mood and in addressing life challenges which may involve adjustment, illness, grief, menopause, relationship or work difficulties.
