About me
Sally Dennis is a HCPC and RCSLT registered Voice Specialist Speech and Language Therapist and is a BAPAM approved practitioner. She has 20 years experience in clinical management of patients experiencing voice difficulties, globus and related throat symptoms which may be associated with diagnoses of muscle tension dysphonia, functional dysphonia, vocal fold paresis and palsy, benign vocal fold lesions such as vocal nodules, polyps, cysts, sulci, reinke's oedema, laryngopharyngeal reflux and spasmodic dysphonia. Intervention includes primary voice therapy including a wide range of approaches including accent method, straw/tube phonation and laryngeal manual therapy, and pre and post operative voice therapy intervention (prehab/rehab). Sally has a special interest and a in-depth experience in working with professional voice users including teachers, call centre workers, singers and performers.
She has extensive experience over 15 years of assessing patients jointly with ENT/laryngology colleagues in Specialist Voice clinics with stroboscopy, and utilises this experience to help plan effective intervention depending on ENT diagnosis and to collaborate with colleagues where indicated.
She is dedicated to regular continued professional development and person centred, goal focussed intervention.
Sally is a guest lecturer at the Royal Northern College of Music on the Vocal Health and Vocal Mechanics. She works part time in the NHS at Liverpool University Hospitals as an Advanced Practitioner Clinical Specialist Speech and Language Therapist in Voice.
