About me

Having made the decision to get some therapy you now face the challenge of finding the 'right' therapist to connect with. How do you do this?

A feeling of being overwhelmed will often follow that initial quick scroll through of the very nice professionals, filling your screen, as you search for a sign highlighting 'the one'.

Some people will gravitate to the most qualified- lots of letters after their name, or maybe they take the one they best like the look of, some might pick a name that stands out (a bit like the Grand National), others will let the universe deliver and just pick anyone. And some will back away and find a reason to delay getting help and support.

It's hard I get it.

We are all qualified, safe, secure practitioners offering a confidential space so no clue there, you take a look through the list of areas of competency and that will help.

I'll let you know how my clients have experienced me; I wonder if that might help you with your choice?

For my divorcing client I was truly wonderful and made a positive difference to her, and her children, and their future.

For another, he felt like he was talking not just to a professional but a person who cared, this made sessions enjoyable and rewarding, my relaxed manner enabled him to feel safe and genuinely supported, which enabled him to find himself at a difficult time, to see the world differently.

One client felt understood and was able to manage her emotions, procrastination and overwhelm arising from ADHD in a calm and more compassionate manner.

Another commented that their experience was incredible, and they'd always be grateful for the strength of our connection that had enabled them to change the rut she has slipped into.

You see it's the strength of the relationship with your therapist that builds the trust and ultimately influences the quality of the outcome.
