About me
I am an individual and group analytic psychotherapist. My approach is based on psychoanalytic theories, which guide how I help clients understand themselves and make meaningful changes in their lives.
I have worked for years in forensic personality disorder services and various NHS roles, supporting people who have experienced complex and prolonged trauma. Many of my clients struggle with deep-rooted defense mechanisms that, while once protective, now make it difficult to build healthy relationships and reach their full potential.
Anger is a common theme in my work. It can be an overwhelming emotion, often masking deeper feelings of pain, fear, or helplessness. For some, anger becomes a way to protect themselves from vulnerability, while for others, it can feel out of control and damaging to their relationships. Understanding angerwhat fuels it and what it defends againstcan open the door to real emotional growth.
Change, while necessary for growth, can feel threatening. It often comes with a pricewhether it's letting go of old defenses, facing difficult emotions, or confronting the unknown. Many people resist change because they fear what they might lose, even when their current patterns are no longer serving them. In therapy, I help clients explore these struggles, making change feel possible and, ultimately, more rewarding than the cost of staying the same.
I also work with individuals struggling with eating disorders, which often stem from complex emotional conflicts and unconscious patterns. Issues around food and body image can serve as a way to manage deep-seated fears, anxieties, or a sense of control in an uncertain world. Therapy provides a space to uncover and understand these underlying struggles, helping clients build a healthier relationship with themselves and their bodies.
Alongside this, I have extensive experience helping people with depression and anxiety. These challenges often arise from unconscious emotional conflicts that shape thoughts, behaviors, and relationships. Through therapy, I provide a safe space to explore these patterns, understand them, and find new ways of coping.
Whether in individual or group therapy, my goal is to support clients in developing self-awareness, emotional resilience, and a more fulfilling life. If you are struggling with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, or other emotional difficulties, I welcome you to reach out and take the first step toward change.
