About me

I am a Senior Consultant Psychiatrist with a wide range of experience in all aspects of adult psychiatry. I take an holistic approach to patient care, using both psychological and medical treatments to maximise effective recovery. I have training in CBT and EMDR, in addition to medication management.

I completed my psychiatric training at the world renowned Maudsley Hospital in London, where I became a consultant in 1999. I also worked at the Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery and gained expertise in neuropsychiatry.

I was an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Kings' College London School of Medicine, and an Honorary Lecturer at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience in London. These academic positions reflected my interest in research, training and teaching.

I have retired from the NHS, where I last worked as a Consultant Psychiatrist in Forensic Mental Health at the Bethlem Royal and Maudsley Hospitals. In addition to my clinical role, I acted as a Associate Medical Director and Lead Consultant for the service, shaping and developing the service for the benefit of patients.

I acted as Firm Head for medical students attending Kings' College School of Medicine, and educational supervisor for junior doctors in their higher training. I provided lectures and tutorials to a range of other professionals, both nationally and internationally. I appraise consultant colleagues regarding the quality of their work.

In addition to private practice, I remain an Honorary Consultant at the Maudsley Hospital and Medical Member of the First Tier Tribunal for Mental Health.
