About me

Gemma Manasseh is a Consultant Ophthalmologist and Oculoplastic surgeon with over 17 years of training across London, Bristol, Bath and Cheltenham, including two fellowships in cataract and oculoplastic surgery. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and a member of the British Oculoplastic Surgical Society. She specialises in performing a range of cosmetic, reconstructive and functional eyelid and lacrimal surgeries, and complex cataract surgery.

She is committed to improving patient outcomes through original research. She has a Masters degree with Distinction from University College London in the field of vision research, and has published and presented award-winning research in the field of cataract and oculoplastic surgery that has had a worldwide impact. She has written chapters for textbooks and is a peer reviewer for several journals, including the British Medical Journal.

Gemma is kind, approachable and quickly establishes a good relationship with her patients with her gentle approach. She takes the time to explore their needs and priorities. She explains their condition and treatment options in language that is easy to understand, and ensures their understanding before reaching a treatment decision together.
