About me
I am a Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years experience working in psychology services across a variety of healthcare settings including the NHS and private practice. I work with adults across the lifespan for a wide variety of mental and physical health related difficulties. My naturally warm and compassionate approach offers patients a safe space to be able to share their difficulties with greater ease. The assessment process helps us to develop a collaborative understanding of the your experiences, difficulties and goals. I draw upon a wide number of therapeutic modalities to individualise therapy to meet your needs. This may include approaches such as EMDR, Compassion Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems and Video Interaction Guidance. Furthermore, I support people to develop a better awareness and understanding of their mind-body connection, which can benefit those struggling with their mental and/or physical health. My hope is that we can build a collaborative therapeutic relationship, where I can support you in making meaningful changes to benefit your life and relationships.
I have specialist training and over 14 years experience in working with parents during the perinatal period, from pregnancy into the postnatal period and beyond. Parents may experience bonding /attachment difficulties within the parent-infant relationship, difficulties with the transition to parenthood, perinatal loss. Additionally, I am experienced in treating birth trauma, tokophobia (fear of childbirth), perinatal OCD along with a variety of antenatal / postnatal anxiety and depression presentations. Furthermore I work with those who have experienced and adjusting to infertility and perinatal loss (miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal death, termination for medical reasons).
I understand how difficult it can be for people to gain the courage to reach out for help. Please be reassured that my naturally warm, compassionate and non-judgemental approach offers you a safe space to share your difficulties. If you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck or unable to cope, then please do get in touch. I offer both in person and online appointments. Please do get in contact if you would like to make an appointment for a free 15 minute consultation to discuss how I may be able to support you.
