About me
Dr Kaushik Guha is a Consultant Cardiologist at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth. He was appointed in 2016 with specialist expertise in heart failure and complex cardiac devices. He is the current clinical lead for heart failure services at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust. He has developed specialist interests within cardiac sarcoidosis and cardiac amyloidosis. He has previously been the departemental lead for undergraduate education and clinical governance.
Following graduation from St. George's, University of London with honours in medicine and surgery, he completed junior training within a range of hospitals within London and the South East. He was awarded his MRCP during this time and his fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians, London in 2021.
Following commencement of registrar training within the South Thames programme, Dr Guha rotated through a number of tertiary cardiology centres including St. George's Hospital, London and the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton and other district general hospitals within Surrey. During this time he gained a full exposure to all forms of acute and chronic cardiac pathology. Dr Guha completed his fellowship at Harefield Hospital and the Royal Brompton Hospital.
Dr Guha was awarded his MD by Imperial College London, following a period of study in patients with heart failure who were undergoing cardiac resynchronisation therapy. The doctoral thesis was supervised by Professor Martin Cowie.
