About me
Mr Yasser Mohsen is a Consultant Surgeon, specialising in lower gastrointestinal surgery working at The Hillingdon and Mount Vernon Hospitals. He has substantial experience of specialised bowel surgery for cancer and inflammatory bowel disease. He has a wide surgical practice, and is an accredited surgeon for laparoscopic surgery for Hernias, Gall bladders and Bowel cancer. He regularly performs Colonoscopy and surgery for Haemorrhoids, Fistulae and Fissures.
He is the lead clinician for colorectal surgery thus chairs the multi-disciplinary team for GI cancer at The Hillingdon and Mount Vernon Hospitals. Besides, he is a surgical examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of England as well as the senior lecturer at Imperial College Medical School.
In 1991 he became a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and later on, continued his training and development at several teaching hospitals in London including; Whipps Cross, The Royal London, St Bartholomew's and The Royal Free hospital in Hampstead. He earned a master's degree in general surgery from the University of London, for his research work in cancer in 1998.
He has general interests in general surgery, laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgery for gastrointestinal as well as bowel conditions. Additionally, he provides an alternative to more radical abdominal surgery, Trans-anal Endoscopic Microsurgery (TEM), which offers a minimally invasive solution for the excision of certain rectal polyps and early-stage rectal tumours.
Mr Mohsen now offers minimally invasive surgery using the da Vinci 5 Surgical System at The Clementine Churchill Hospital, the UK's first private hospital to adopt this advanced robotic-assisted technology. Leveraging enhanced precision, 3D visualisation, and wristed instruments, they deliver improved surgical outcomes, shorter recovery times, and care across his specialties in general and colorectal surgery.
