About me
My name is Dr Claire Franklin, clinical psychologist, and I have over 15 years of experience of working in NHS psychology services.
I have supported children, adolescents, and adults experiencing a wide spectrum of psychological issues, including depression, anxiety, neurodiversity, learning disability, self-harm, and dementia. I like to work collaboratively with my clients. My specialist interests include trauma, family carers, post-diagnostic support, and dealing with life-limiting and neurological conditions, but really, I like to see the person in front of me, rather than the issue.
I use several evidence-based therapeutic approaches with my clients, for example cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance & commitment therapy (ACT), systemic (family) therapy, narrative therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and compassion focused therapy. I draw from many psychological theories, including current understandings of trauma, attachment, and neuropsychology.
I have worked in several NHS services in London and Hertfordshire:
Two brain injury rehabilitation services (2.5 years), three learning disabilities services (2.5 years), an older adults/memory service (6 years), an adult community mental health service (9 months), a talking therapies/IAPT service (1 year), a child and adolescent mental health service (6 months), and a ME/Chronic Fatigue service (10 months). I currently work part-time in a neurological rehabilitation service.
My therapy practice is based in NW London, and I also offer virtual appointments. The cancellation notice is 24 hours. I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and I abide by their codes of conduct.
My Qualifications:
