About me
Mr Aamir Ismailjee is a distinguished eye surgeon with dual qualifications in Optometry and Ophthalmology, a rare combination that provides him with extensive expertise in refractive treatments. His ophthalmic training was completed in the prestigious North Thames rotation, followed by two subspecialist fellowships in cornea, cataract, and refractive surgery at Moorfields Eye Hospital.
Before joining Optegra, Mr Ismailjee served as a consultant at Moorfields, specialising in cataract surgery. During his tenure, he led and trained a team of both domestic and international doctors, performing over 2,000 eye procedures and mastering some of the latest, innovative techniques.
Based in London, where he has lived his entire life, Mr Ismailjee has built strong relationships with his patients, consistently receiving excellent feedback. He completed his undergraduate education at City University London, specialising in refractive surgery, and earned his medical degree from the University of London, attending Barts and The London Medical School. During his studies, he received multiple prizes in undergraduate ophthalmology and graduated with merit. His postgraduate training with the London Deanery was marked by consecutive annual achievements.
Mr Ismailjee holds the Certificate for Laser and Refractive Surgery from The Royal College of Ophthalmologists, certifying his competence in performing laser eye surgery and clear lens exchange. He is also heavily involved in teaching and training, receiving numerous commendations from UCL Medical School for his outstanding contributions to undergraduate and postgraduate education.
Passionate about providing the best possible outcomes and experiences for his patients, Mr Ismailjee continually achieves excellent results. He remains at the forefront of healthcare by attending multiple conferences annually and actively engaging in audit and scientific research, with numerous publications in esteemed journals.
