About me
I am a fellowship trained ENT, head and neck surgeon in Bristol with expertise in treating a wide range of ear, nose and throat conditions in adults and children.
My subspecialist field of interest is in benign and malignant head and neck conditions. I completed a competitive, year-long fellowship, specialising in advanced head and neck oncology surgery and robotic surgery at Oxford University Hospital. I am a core member of the Head and Neck (H&N) and Thyroid multidisciplinary team at University Hospitals Bristol where I work with my colleagues from other specialities, to deliver expert tertiary care for complex H&N and thyroid patients in the South-West region.
I offer general ENT surgeries to both children and adults (tonsil and adenoid surgery, endoscopic sinus surgery, septoplasty (correction of deviated nasal septum), grommet insertion.
As well as this, my specific interest lies in benign and malignant head and neck surgery for both children and adults. I offer diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for the upper aerodigestive tract including the voice box, endoscopic and open surgeries for pharyngeal pouches, salivary (parotid and submandibular) and thyroid gland surgeries, neck lump excisions as well as throat cancer surgeries.
I have a strong research background, with over twenty peer reviewed papers, three textbook chapters and contributions to the latest UK guidelines in the management of head and neck cancers.
Along-side my clinical work, I have also obtained a MSc in Surgical Sciences from Edinburgh University and a MD (Res) in Primary Hyperparathyroidism Minimally invasive parathyroidectomy techniques and the impact on neurocognitive and health related quality of life symptoms from St George's University, London. I also regularly review articles for the Journal of Laryngology and Otology for the head and neck section. I have presented over 40 oral and poster presentations at international and national conferences.
