About me
Dr. Siddiqi is a distinguished Haematologist at Dartford & Gravesham NHS Trust, known for his expertise in the rapid diagnosis and management of complex haematological conditions. His areas of specialisation include anaemia, enlarged lymph nodes, bleeding and clotting disorders, leukaemia, lymphomas, and both benign and malignant haematology. With extensive experience, Dr. Siddiqi is highly skilled in performing bone marrow procedures with detailed analysis, conducting venesections, and prescribing chemotherapy for a variety of haematological cancers, ensuring patients receive comprehensive and timely care.
Dr. Siddiqi graduated in medicine in 2002 and has since built an impressive career. He was admitted as a member of the Royal College of Medicine in 2012 and later became a fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists in the UK in 2022. His haematology training spanned prestigious institutions in Glasgow and Birmingham, including the Beatson Cancer Centre the UK's second-largest cancer centre-as well as Glasgow Royal Infirmary and Queen Elizabeth Hospital, both ranked among the world's top 100 hospitals by Newsweek. He completed his training as a Senior Registrar in Clinical Haematology at City Hospital Birmingham, where he honed his skills in managing complex cases.
Dr. Siddiqi's first consultant role was at City Hospital Birmingham, where he contributed to the Haemato-Oncology Team, handling haematological malignancies, haemoglobinopathies, haemostasis, and blood transfusion challenges. Since September 2024, he has served as a substantive Haematology Consultant at Dartford & Gravesham NHS Trust, working in a busy district general hospital and addressing all facets of clinical haematology with dedication and precision.
A passionate educator, Dr. Siddiqi runs the Bread and Butter Haematology channel on X, amassing 1.6 million interactions, and authors a Substack blog read in 51 countries. He has taught at the University of Birmingham, delivered courses for FRCPath candidates, and lectures at the University of Wolverhampton. His research includes a COVID-19 severity equation published in the Journal of Clinical Medicine (2023) and pioneering the use of the Bone Marrow Drill, presented at the British Society of Haematology (2023).
Outside medicine, Dr. Siddiqi enjoys the outdoors, exploring culinary arts, and studying Japanese history, reflecting his diverse passions.
