About me

Dr. Julekha Wajed is a Consultant Rheumatologist at Kingston Hospital NHS Trust. Her specialist interests includes early inflammatory arthritis, as well as osteoarthritis, gout, osteoporosis, polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR), giant cell arteritis (GCA), and vasculitis. She provides soft tissue and joint steroid injections.

Dr. Wajed is dedicated to patient-centred care, integrating medical treatments, patient education, exercise, and a holistic approach to managing rheumatological conditions.

After graduating from Manchester University in 2003, she completed her medical training in North Thames London and earned her Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) in Rheumatology and General Internal Medicine from the South Thames London training program. She was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) in 2017.

Dr. Wajed holds an MSc in Rheumatology from King's College London. She has been recognised with prestigious awards, including the Barbara Ansell and Eric Bywaters prizes at the Royal Society of Medicine, and a travelling fellowship from the British Society of Rheumatology.

Dr. Wajed is also actively involved in research, with multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals, and has presented her work at both local and European conferences. She has held leadership roles in clinical effectiveness and audit committees and contributes to the training junior doctors.
