About me
Dr Martin is Senior Consultant at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. He trained as a subspecialist surgeon following his award of higher postgraduate MD in Medicine and was appointed to Consultant at just 34 years old. Dr Martin is the Lead Clinician for the Gynaecological Cancer Unit and the responsible Consultant for the Regional Cancer Network.
Dr Martins main area of expertise is laparoscopic (kehole) surgery and was a pioneer in Scotland in the early 2000’s in introducing new techniques including hysterectomy and radical endometriosis resection. This work lead to the joint development of Edinburgh as a recognised Endometriosis Unit and as well as oncology work, Dr Martin performs complex procedures in patients with advanced endometriosis and other benign conditions.
